Winner of the Energy Globe Austria

The Energy Globe Austria 2022 award ceremony took place on October 7th. The online ceremony was opened by Federal President Van der Bellen. Our shareholders Gerhard Rimpler and Markus Gundendorfer were awarded the price by Deputy Governor. Manfred Haimbuchner.

Our project "Building component activation with photovoltaics" prevailed against 300 innovative and future-oriented environmental projects from all over Austria in the category "Earth". Exactly one year after the opening of our new location, we were awarded for our solar-electric company building. Our "cables instead of pipes" concept, which is successfully implemented in the company building, convinced the jury.

The power of the sun is used intelligently by the 300 PV modules on the facades of the company building and converted into heat where it is needed. With electric heating wires built into the concrete foundation, the surplus, self-generated electricity from the photovoltaic systems is used for heating. The concrete core thus acts as a heat accumulator by compensating for power peaks and consuming them itself instead of feeding them into the grid. With this concept, we were energy self-sufficient in all sectors (electricity, heat and mobility) in the first measured winter and our operating costs are even negative!

We are very happy about the award and see the victory as a clear sign that the topic of photovoltaic heat and sustainable energy generation has arrived.
