Net billing system in Poland
The feed-in of renewable energies into the power grid is increasing. This also increases the pressure on the power grid to cope with these peaks. To avoid power outages and reduce the pressure on the Polish power grid, self-consumption has been promoted: Instead of using the power grid as a storage medium, it makes more sense to use the electricity directly at the point of origin as much as possible. In Poland, the introduction of a net billing system in 2021 was long overdue, but was postponed several times due to lobbying.
Net billing using a prosumer billing model will now begin on April 12022, and new PV systems installed after March 312022, will no longer be eligible for the previous "systemie opustów" discount system where consumers received a 1:1 net billing after installing a PV system. However, the new PV systems will be covered by a feed-in tariff based on the value of the energy, which is determined according to the exchange price - the price of the day-ahead market (DAM).
This is therefore a prosumer billing model, in which the value (not the amount) of electricity imported by a prosumer into the electricity distribution network is offset against the value of electricity withdrawn from that network for self-consumption.
Since April 1st, there has been a three-month transition period, and from July 1, net billing will only apply to PV systems installed after March 312022. my-PV solutions such as AC•THOR or AC•THOR 9s or AC ELWA-E, can help consumers, as self-consumption of photovoltaic electricity will play an important role. Also in view of the rising gas prices an important aspect.
How the solutions of my-PV can be used for self-consumption and what are the advantages of it?
