Swiss family increases self-consumption

The Swiss software manufacturer Solar Manager controls photovoltaic heating with the AC•THOR 9s in a single-family house located in the canton Aargau.

For the customer, the desire for increased self-consumption was decisive in looking for a photovoltaic heat solution. Together with Martin Essig, planner at R. Hegi AG, the solution was quickly identified.

Since the controllability and integration of my-PV solutions with the components (inverters and battery storages from SolarEdge, system control with Solar Manager) has already worked well in the past, the choice went again in favour of the Austrian expert in solutions for self-consumption optimization.

The single-family house of family Schmid in the Aargau canton, equipped with a 14 kWp photovoltaic system, provides ideal conditions for photovoltaic hot water preparation. The choice fell on the AC•THOR 9s by my-PV, controlled through the Solar Manager, which utilizes the surplus from the photovoltaic system for the linear regulation of heat preparation. An already existing 6 kW heating element in the 300-liter hot water tank is precisely modulated by the AC•THOR 9s to use only the power that would typically be fed into the grid and would be unprofitable for the homeowner.

Since July 2023, the system has been in operation. How has the experience been? Read more about it in the complete reference description!
