Projektbeschreibung

Seit Juli 2019 sparen Christine Yumul und ihre Familie für die Warmwasserbereitung 2.281 kWh Strom pro Jahr ein. Das entspricht einer monetären Ersparnis von 659 Australischen Dollar (400 Euro) pro Jahr. 92 % des Wassers im Boiler werden durch PV-Paneele erwärmt. Dadurch gibt Christine lediglich 59 AU$/Jahr (36 Euro) für Warmwasser aus!

Darüber hinaus entfällt durch die photovoltaische Warmwasserbereitung im Unterschied zu solarthermischen Anlagen die ansonsten notwendige Sanitärinstallation, Pumpen, Rohrleitungsverluste, sowie die Wartung.
Die Sonneneinstrahlung des Standorts ist vergleichbar mit der in Südspanien. Dementsprechend bietet die europäische Version des Geräts mit dem Namen "ELWA" auf dem alten Kontinent ebenso viel Potenzial wie SC20 in Australien. In Mitteleuropa sind für einen vierköpfigen Haushalt solare Deckungsgrade von 50 bis 70 % möglich.
