New features with the firmware release for our AC Solutions

The latest firmware release introduces several new features for our grid-connected devices (AC ELWA 2, AC•THOR, and AC•THOR 9s).

With firmware version a0021700, the following features are available for the AC•THOR and AC•THOR 9s. For the AC ELWA 2, the updates are available starting from firmware version e0001100.

New features with the firmware release

SOFAR as a new compatibility partner

The my-PV products AC•THOR, AC•THOR 9s, and AC ELWA 2 are now compatible with SOFAR inverters via RS485 connection.

Fox ESS H3 Pro

In addition to the well-established compatibility with Fox ESS inverters of the “H3” type, the newer “H3 Pro” series is now also compatible with my-PV products and pre-configured as a control type.

SolaX

Previously, SolaX could only be integrated using RS485 communication wiring. For customers preferring local network communication, we have good news:

With the new firmware, Ethernet connectivity is now possible. This enables the my-PV device (when connected to the internet) to automatically integrate into the my-PV Cloud, without the need for additional wiring.

Huawei EMMA

Communication options with Huawei have become highly versatile. In addition to reading meter values via the Huawei dongle or data logger, a brand-new feature is the integration with Huawei’s energy management system, EMMA.

Step-by-step instructions can be found here.

GoodWe

Until now, official compatibility with GoodWe inverters was limited to devices up to 10 kW in combination with the WiFi+LAN module.

We are excited to announce that with the GoodWe WiFi LAN Kit Gen2.0, inverters ranging from 15–30 kW are now compatible with my-PV products, using the same pre-configured control type as before.

A new feature in operating mode M1

A new option, "Activate relay when heat is supplied," has been added to the operating mode M1 for the AC ELWA 2, AC•THOR, and AC•THOR 9s.

This option is enabled via the web interface or the my-PV Cloud, not on the device display. When set to “On,” the relay is activated when heat is being supplied, allowing the relay to act as a potential-free signal generator.

This feature can also switch small circulation pumps with a power rating of up to approximately 50 watts. In addition to the already implemented AC•THOR operating mode M7, this enables external stratification in larger thermal storage systems.

Good to know

If the heating rod is not installed directly in the thermal storage tank but in a hydraulic bypass and heat is delivered via the circulation pump, a mixing valve installed in between can help prevent potential turbulence in the tank's thermal layers.

How to update your device

The new firmware can be easily downloaded directly from the device, via the my-PV Cloud, or through the web interface.
