my-PV & Victron: Intelligent Data Integration with Node-RED

Temperature at a glance: Solutions for heating with photovoltaic power can be read directly via Victron.
Live demo in the partner webinar on January 28, 2026.

Victron and my-PV – two strong partners that have been compatible for over 7 years.
my-PV systems can now be integrated even more deeply into Victron energy systems. Using the Node-RED programming layer, data from my-PV devices – such as the AC•THOR – can be read, processed further, and visualized directly in the Victron VRM Portal.

This enables a cross-manufacturer solution in which my-PV devices are seamlessly integrated into the Victron ecosystem – including mobile visualization all the way to smartwatches.

A smartwatch displaying different temperature readings: my-PV Water 55°C, Wohnzimmer 22.5°C, Dachspeicher 14°C, Carport 1.7°C.

Practical example: Temperature display from the AC•THOR

In a current use case, the water temperature is read from the AC•THOR via Modbus TCP. With the help of Node-RED, this value is mapped to a virtual temperature sensor and then displayed in the Victron VRM Portal.

The solution is deliberately kept simple and demonstrates how quickly and flexibly my-PV devices can be integrated into existing Victron installations. In addition, more advanced, cross-system control strategies are also possible.

What the my-PV & Victron integration offers:

  • Modbus TCP connection of my-PV devices to Victron systems

  • Visualization of live temperature data from the AC•THOR in the VRM Portal

  • Display on mobile devices and smartwatches

  • Data processing and logic via Node-RED

  • Expandable to additional sensors and data points

In principle, all devices that provide their values via Modbus TCP can be integrated. Any potential challenges mainly relate to local network configurations rather than the system architecture itself.
