Expanding our partnership with the Enixi software platform

my-PV is constantly expanding its partner network: enixi, a specialist in billing for energy communities, is joining the team.

enixi was founded in Carinthia in 2021 with the aim of making energy sharing as easy as possible. What began as an idea is now a ‘Software as a Service’ platform that operates in four European markets – Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy – and is setting new standards. The platform handles the establishment, management, billing and regulatory compliance of energy communities in a fully automated manner – from the very first steps right through to scaling up to hundreds of participants. Interfaces with smart meters and data exchange platforms are not an obstacle, but a core competence. The philosophy behind this is simple: the cheapest kilowatt-hour is the one consumed where it is generated – locally produced, renewable and with minimal transaction costs. Every kilowatt-hour shared via enixi is generated regionally and boosts local value creation. With initiatives such as energiespenden.at, enixi goes one step further, ensuring that clean energy is not only available but also accessible to everyone.

enixi and my-PV

How do these two Austrian companies complement each other? Whilst my-PV, the specialist in generating heat from photovoltaic electricity, uses the AC ELWA 2, the AC•THOR or the AC•THOR 9s to convert surplus PV directly into heat – thereby maximising self-consumption within the building – enixi ensures that any remaining surplus can be shared effectively within a community. Both approaches pursue the same goal: to use PV electricity as close as possible to the source, minimise feed-in to the grid and increase the economic value for operators – whether in a detached house, a commercial premises or a multi-occupancy building. Further potential is opening up, particularly in the commercial and industrial sectors: process heat.

Process heat: potential for commercial and industrial applications

Particularly for commercial and industrial applications, the combination of surplus PV, energy communities and intelligent heat utilisation unlocks a potential that is often underestimated. Process heat refers to thermal energy required directly in operational processes – for example, for cleaning systems, drying lines or the heating of process fluids. With the AC•THOR and AC•THOR 9s, available surplus solar energy can be fed into such heating applications on a continuous basis. For businesses with high daily heating requirements, this results in direct cost savings and a sensible extension of the energy community model beyond the mere use of electricity.

ElWG: What applies from October 2026

From October 2026, the new Electricity Industry Act (ElWG) will come into force in Austria. It will enable more flexible use of self-generated electricity, direct trading between generators and consumers, and collaborative sharing. This opens up new opportunities for PV system operators, commercial enterprises and property owners to utilise solar power even more directly and cost-effectively.

Joint webinar in early July: Energy Sharing 2.0 (in German)

Matthias Nadrag (CEO & Founder, enixi) and David Himmel (Product Management, my-PV) will be demonstrating live how peer-to-peer trading and shared energy use will work under the ElWG from October 2026 – and how businesses, industry and property owners can convert surplus PV electricity directly into heat.
