AC ELWA-E

Optimal - for maximum self-consumption.

AC ELWA-E is a 0 - 3 kW linearly controlled water heating device for grid-connected photovoltaic systems. It uses excess PV energy for hot water heating and thus optimizes the self-consumption of the system. The linear control of the power sets the PV feed-in power to zero.

The AC ELWA-E also has our proven hot water boost-backup function: if the sun does not seem to be enough, the hot water can optionally be heated to the desired temperature by using energy from the public power grid.

It can be installed in hot water boilers and buffer storages.

 

Tip Grid-connected PV systems achieve an average of only 30% self-consumption. In an typical household (5 kWp PV system), self-consumption with the AC ELWA-E can easily be increased up to 75%.

AC•THOR is a 0 - 3 kW linearly controlled photovoltaic power manager for hot water, electric heat sources and optional space heating.

Simple & efficient: AC•THOR controls electrical heat sources depending on the availability of PV energy and heat demand. And that for both hot water, as well as for space heating. It ensures your personal living comfort fully automatically. In a residential building that is built or renovated according to current energy standards, AC•THOR replaces conventional, water-based building installations. Missing residual energy can be obtained from the public grid.

ELWA

Use solar power directly for domestic water heating.


ELWA is a 2 kW photovoltaic water heating device. Direct current from photovoltaic modules is transferred directly to the built-in heating element and immediately converted into heat without loss. The built-in MPP Tracker ensures that the PV generator is always operated at the optimum operating point (similar to a PV inverter). For operation, no connection to the mains is required as the unit is powered by the PV generator (pure off-grid operation). The desired DHW temperature is set with a rotary knob, LED displays inform about the current device status.

Always warm water, even during bad weather.


Due to the patented boost-backup function, hot water supply can be guaranteed even during bad weather. This makes it possible to completely switch off the conventional heating system in summer. This also increases its lifespan.

For commissioning the boost-backup function, ELWA can be easily connected to a mains socket. There is no feed-in into the grid, so it does not need a metering point like a grid-connected PV system.

Data evaluation with USB interface

ELWA has an integrated data logger. With the USB interface and the free ELWA software, you can read out your solar yields and see, for example, the temperature increase of your hot water. In addition, device settings can be easily customized for your individual needs.

Remote monitoring with Modbus interface

AC•THOR 9s also for three single-phase heating elements

The AC•THOR 9s can also be used to heat up very large storage tanks. Up to three heating elements can be controlled linearly one after the other. The advantage: Hot water is available very quickly.

If there is a surplus of more than 3,000 watts available, the elements are also controlled in combination to maximise self consumption and shorten the heating time.

In this mode the use of the my-PV immersion heater 3kW is ideal!

Tip Of course, the immersion heaters can also be located in different tanks. For example, one in the hot water boiler and one or two more in the buffer tank!
