my-PV solutions compatible with innovative storage systems by LINK3

LINK3 develops and produces innovative stratified storage systems that, in combination with a photovoltaic heating element and precise layering, can maximize efficiency.

The Austrian company based in Puch near Salzburg uses a principle based on thermodynamics and fluid mechanics for its innovative stratified storage systems. The patented LINK3 technology ensures that different temperature layers can be maintained even during water circulation. As the unrivaled world champion in layering efficiency since 2016, this technology allows internal energy generation systems to increase their efficiency by up to 35%. The company offers hot water storage units ranging from 500 to 900 liters, which can be interconnected to achieve various performance levels.

Efficient layering means that the stored thermal energy can be retrieved at maximum usability. The maintained temperature layer prevents a reduction in storage capacity and heat usability, ultimately leading to the aforementioned efficiency increase.

Although my-PV heating elements cannot be directly integrated into the storage units, the manufacturer provides electric heating cartridge bodies for thermal layering. Commonly known as "external heating modules," these systems are installed in front of the hot water storage unit to ensure clean layering within the storage system. This is achieved by precisely regulating surplus heat from my-PV heating elements in an “external heating module,” trimming it to the required temperature for layering into the storage system without mixing.

Good to know

Temperature mixing invariably results in temperature loss, which leads to a loss of heat usability!

The following my-PV devices are compatible with LINK3’s highly efficient stratified storage systems:

The 3 kW and 9 kW screw-in heating elements are heating elements without power electronics. Linear control can only be achieved with a photovoltaic power manager. The immersion heaters are ideal for use with the AC•THOR, AC•THOR 9s, or SOL•THOR (available in the first quarter of 2025).

Curious about the benefits for you?

We are hosting a joint partner webinar where both manufacturers will share detailed information and opportunities. The partner webinar will be held on January 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
