EcoFlow is my-PV’s 90th compatibility partner

PV heating specialist my-PV welcomes one of the world’s leading providers of smart energy storage solutions as its 90th partner company. The AC ELWA 2 is now directly compatible with the EcoFlow OCEAN 2, allowing surplus solar power to be automatically converted into hot water and space heating support.

System openness has been a key part of my-PV’s corporate philosophy from the very beginning. With EcoFlow, we are now adding a particularly strong partner to our open network of system partners — while also reaching an important milestone: our 90th compatible partner company. For customers of both my-PV and EcoFlow, this means even greater freedom when choosing their system and another way to make the best possible use of every kilowatt-hour of solar power they generate in their own home.

EcoFlow OCEAN 2 and AC ELWA 2 intelligently connected

The EcoFlow OCEAN 2 is a powerful home energy storage system available in power classes from 6 to 12 kW. It is based on durable LFP battery technology, features an IP66 protection rating and comes with a 15-year warranty. By integrating the AC ELWA 2, surplus solar energy is automatically used for hot water preparation or for heating a buffer storage tank — continuously regulated down to the watt!

As soon as the EcoFlow OCEAN 2 battery is fully charged, the surplus solar power is continuously fed into the PV immersion heater from the Austrian expert in photovoltaic heat. The AC ELWA 2 receives real-time data on the available surplus directly from the EcoFlow system via an open network interface and continuously regulates the heating output between 0 and 3.5 kW — without any additional hardware. The integration is also available for EcoFlow PowerOcean storage systems.

Local communication – fast, reliable, without the cloud

The integration is based on local network communication: no cloud connection is required for the central heating function. Using the Modbus TCP protocol, the my-PV solution and the EcoFlow system communicate directly with each other, as long as both are connected to the same local network. This keeps the solution fast, reliable and secure – while optimizing solar power directly behind the meter.

The benefit for homeowners is clear: instead of feeding surplus energy into the grid at low value, the electricity is used directly for hot water and heating, helping to reduce energy costs. Users remain in full control – with target temperature settings, time-controlled heating, scheduled sterilization cycles and a one-touch boost function for rapid heating. The power consumption of the my-PV heating solution is displayed directly in the OCEAN 2 energy dashboard, providing a unified overview of all energy flows in the household.

EcoFlow’s older product lines, namely PowerOcean and PowerOcean Plus, can also be connected to the AC ELWA 2 and the AC•THOR series, but are not displayed in the EcoFlow Cloud. This means that consumption is shown only in the my-PV Cloud.

“We are very pleased to welcome EcoFlow to our partner network. The partnership once again shows that leading manufacturers rely on open systems. my-PV has focused on system openness from the very beginning – and with EcoFlow as a strong partner, we are taking another important step for our customers.”
